Call for Papers

EAI BROADNETS 2021 will be held as a fully-fledged online conference.

In 2020, EAI successfully launched an online conference format to ensure the safety, comfort and quality of experience for attendees and a successful course of the events, all while retaining fully live interaction, publication and indexing. Due to the unrelenting global pandemic, this will also be the case in 2021.
Although we will miss having everyone meet and connect in person, we feel strongly that knowledge exchange must continue, if not more so. That is why we have equipped our online conferences with live viewing with chat, virtual Q&A, and a multitude of other measures to provide you with a great experience. Scope

Beyond 5G enabled advanced manufacturing, the 5th generation (5G) mobile networks and beyond (B5G) provide high bandwidth capacity, low latency and connectivity to enable a new generation of applications, services and business opportunities that have not been seen before. Smart sensors, enabled by 5G/B5G, are coordinated and communicated in real-time to complete the manufacturing process. These smart sensors will be able to assess the quality of components that are being manufactured in real time, reducing re-working requirements. This has the potential to revolutionize modern industrial processes and applications including agriculture, manufacturing and business communications. Through a combination of AI-based planning, edge computing, high bandwidth with low latency, connected machines, AR-enabled workers and integrated logistics. Beyond 5G, one can anticipate that there will be a more dynamic, self-regulating and self-adjusting process that will translate into agility, speed and higher productivity.

The scope of this conference will target at B5G-enabled advanced manufacturing; it will include, but not be limited to energy, automation, mining etc. More specifically, novel models and algorithms for streaming data, edge computing, IoT and cloud management, which deliver cost-effective and ultra-low latency applications, real-time data collection and processing, are solicited. This conference aims at the technology and application innovation through the entire process of 5G/B5G-enabled advanced manufacturing from data collection and interoperability to accurate modelling and real-time computation and analysis in manufacturing process control.

Additional publication opportunities:

Paper submission

Papers should be submitted through EAI ‘Confy+‘ system, and have to comply with the Springer format (see Author’s kit section).

All conference papers undergo a thorough peer review process prior to the final decision and publication. This process is facilitated by experts in the Technical Program Committee during a dedicated conference period. Standard peer review is enhanced by EAI Community Review which allows EAI members to bid to review specific papers. All review assignments are ultimately decided by the responsible Technical Program Committee Members while the Technical Program Committee Chair is responsible for the final acceptance selection. You can learn more about Community Review here.
